What is tweed?
Tweed is a thick woollen fabric, often woven from different coloured threads and originally produced in Scotland.

The word bouclé is the French word for curl. Bouclé is pronounced 'boo-clay'.  Bouclé tweed has a distinctive appearance which is characterised by looped and curled yarns of differing textures and thicknesses.

Why is tweed so popular?
Good quality tweed is made with a high percentage of natural fibres, most notably, wool. Wool is a versatile material with natural elasticity, which enables it to resist creasing. It is light, flexible and breathable. Wool is able to absorb moisture which means that it is suitable for both warm and cooler conditions, making wool a truly, trans-seasonal fabric.

Wool is 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable.
