Our Values
We are committed to working with local organisations. Our jackets are designed and manufactured in London. We source our luxury couture tweed from one of the last remaining vertical woollen mills in the UK. After the raw wool is delivered to the mill, it undergoes a number of stages including cleaning, dying and blending, before it is spun into yarn and then woven into fabric.
Transparency and traceability are important to us. Our fabric partner can trace the pure wool used in our tweed jackets back to the farm that it originated from. We work with partners that are committed to sustainability, both socially and environmentally.
We are not fast fashion, but that certainly does not mean that we are slow! Today’s world demands that we work efficiently and concisely. Our jackets are not hand-stitched for hours on end, or flown around the world for fittings. We prefer our carbon footprint to be a little lower than that!
Our jackets contain a high proportion of natural fibres including wool, mohair and cotton. The wool used in our jackets is sustainably sourced natural wool.
Our view is that too often wool has been overlooked in favour of synthetic alternatives. Wool is a versatile fabric with qualities superior to synthetics and has natural elasticity, which enables it to resist creasing. It is light, flexible and breathable. It is resistant to odours and dirt. Wool is able to absorb moisture which means that it is suitable for both warm and cooler conditions, making wool a truly, trans-seasonal fabric.
Wool is 100% natural, renewable, biodegradable and can be recycled for many uses.
Please refer to our Sustainability Page page for more information on the benefits of wool.
Our tweed supplier only works with farms that respect animal freedoms. Such farms are annually audited under a number of criteria covering areas such as animal welfare, land management and social impact. Our supplier informs us that all sheep are free range and pasture fed and each wool grower adheres to a strict animal welfare code.
The cotton used in our tweed has been certified by the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). The BCI is a non-profit organisation that works to make cotton production more sustainable and fair worldwide. The BCI’s mission is to help cotton communities and protect the environment.
Our packaging is 100% plastic-free. The boxes we use are made in the UK from recycled materials and are 100% recyclable.
